St Barts Villas in Flamands
Home to one of St Barts' longest beaches, with soft sand, calm waves, and grand villas.
Flamands Beach is a wide stretch of sand on the northwest coast, backed by hills and dotted with villas and hotels. The gentle waves and shallow entry make it good for swimming. The beach is long enough for walks.
The area has beachfront dining and shaded spots under the palms. Flamands also serves as the starting point for the hike to Colombier Beach.
The Beach
Flamands Beach stretches nearly a kilometer along the northwest coast. The sand is fine and white, the water clear and usually calm. The beach faces west, so you get good sunsets.
Waves are generally small, making it safe for children and good for swimming. The beach slopes gradually, so you can walk out quite far before the water gets deep.
There are a few beach restaurants with loungers and umbrellas. Otherwise the beach is mostly natural, with sea grape trees providing shade at the edges.
Restaurants
La Langouste sits right on the beach, serving lunch and dinner with your feet in the sand. The menu is seafood-heavy, as the name suggests. Cheval Blanc hotel has multiple restaurants including La Case, which is more upscale.
For other options, you'll drive to St. Jean (15 minutes) or Gustavia (20 minutes).
The Hike to Colombier
The trail to Colombier Beach starts from the end of Flamands. It's about 30 minutes each way, mostly downhill going there, uphill coming back. The path is rocky in places, so wear proper shoes.
Colombier Beach is isolated and beautiful, accessible only by foot or boat. Bring water and snacks since there's nothing there.
Getting Around
Flamands is 15 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes to St. Jean, and 20 minutes to Gustavia. The beach road is narrow with limited parking, especially near the hotels. Most villas have parking.
The Villas
We handle 33 villas in Flamands. Some are right on the beach, others are on the hillsides with views down to the water. Beachfront properties are expensive and book early. Hillside villas cost less but give you more space and privacy.
Sizes range from two bedrooms to large estates. The area attracts families and groups looking for a proper beach.
Best For
Flamands works well for families with children. The beach is safe, spacious, and beautiful. Also good for anyone who wants a proper sandy beach within walking distance. Less ideal if you want nightlife or lots of restaurant options nearby.
